And, well, it's a music video, so you get the whole song, of course, but the story in the vid ends with "to be continued" -- IT'S A WIP, YOU GUYS! (It gets possibly NSFW around 3:20)

So, hi, you guys! I didn't actually mean to take a 4-month hiatus, it just kinda happened. My car died for reals & forever (we sent her to the Pick & Pull where she will be sold in pieces), so I've been doing the ridiculous 5-hours-a-day-on-public-transportation commute thingy since before Christmas. But -- WOO-HOO! -- I got into Mills! And I got a Dean's Scholarship "created to support a select group of incoming students we feel will have the greatest impact on the Mills community. You were chosen based on your academic and extracurricular achievements and the potential you show as a campus leader." HA! Take THAT! (Um, I don't actually know who should "take THAT," but it feels like the kind of a victory where "take THAT" needs to be said.) It's not a full scholarship -- nowhere near -- so I am optimistically waiting to see the rest of the aid package they're going to offer. *crosses fingers*
(My kid says, "What extracurricular achievements?" LOL! She's pretty much the only extracurricular activity I've had for a very long time [OK, except for fandom, which I didn't actually mention on my application], so I guess they mean her. Also, speaking of my kid, she got into the study abroad program and will be spending her last semester at Berkeley studying PoliSci in Lyon, France. /maternal bragging )
And now that I know I'm in, I can start making work choices that will get me closer to home.
