I have never been to a con.  Partly due to lack of funds, which is not so much of a problem now that c8h10n4o2junkie is more financially independent, and partly due to a certain level of social anxiety.

But I was thinking of maybe doing Escapade this year.

Anyone going?  Willing to say "Hi"?  (I'd be the one either cowering in fetal position in the corner, or wide-eyed and manic trying to force myself to be outgoing in spite of the fear....)

You should come to Wincon next year. *nods* it's here in Denver and you can hang out with me *G* I am AWESOME for socially anxious people. I am so social all you have to do is stick next to me and I'll socialize enough for the both of us. ;)

Ah, the feeling is entirely mutual! Actually I don't have a group of people I hang out at the cons, which is kind of sad, but to be expected since I don't socialize as much as I do online to form those kinds of ties. I kind of wonder around and talk to people (everyone seems so friendly and I've had pretty cool conversations) but the people I talk to online most often, except for amothea and minotaours, don't seem interested in cons.

Next year me and some friends have planned to get away during the tax season for an extended weekend, so that's why I wasn't thinking of doing it in 2009, because I can't do both :/
