Gift Accounts

I know that DW is planning on having a setup in which one can gift someone else with a paid account.

Anybody know if that'll be in place for open beta? Or what the appropriate venue would be for asking such a question?

Yes, the initial payment system does include paying for someone else's account as a gift. (It doesn't include all the sparkly fun things we want to do around it, but you'll be able to buy paid time for someone else!)

Yeah, until the end of closed beta, in case anyone's discussing/reporting DW problems/issues in their journals that need to be addressed before open beta starts.
